Goal of Hospice
Iowa River Hospice is dedicated to:
Help terminal patients remain comfortable and able to participate in life as fully as possible until death occurs naturally and peacefully.
Enable families to continue caring for the patient in their homes.
Be supportive of family members during the bereavement period.

Admission Criteria
Diagnosis of a terminal illness with a prognosis of six months or less if the disease runs its natural course.
(End-stage lung, heart, kidney, ALS, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's disease, system failure or cancer & others)
Patient and family agreeable to hospice services

How to Request Services
A patient, family member, physician, or discharge planner can contact Iowa River Hospice to request care. A physician certifies the patient's terminal diagnosis.

Payment for Care
Accepts Medicare, Medicaid reimbursement and some private insurance companies. Will provide all cares regardless of ability to pay.

Iowa River Hospice accepts death as a natural part of life, seeking neither to hasten nor prolong the dying process. The focus is on living.
